Frequently
Asked
Questions
You might have questions, and Launch TPR has the answers!
-
Is the registration service fee refundable? In the event that your TPR is not registered, the registration fee is 100% refunded. Please allow 2-4 weeks for any returned fees and follow up with your banking institution to learn their policies. During registration and when your TPR is successfully registered, the fee can not be refunded.
-
What happens when I receive my TPR?Once your FMCSA TPR is registered, you're off to the races to begin training new ELDT CDL Drivers. You'll still need to log into your FMCSA TPR portal to register your location(s), upload your student's credentials no more than 24 hours after you've certified them, update any changes as they occur, and biannually recertify (you'll receive an email to do this).
-
Do I need to have a FMCSA TPR to train new CDL ELDT Drivers?Yes! By law you must be registered on the FMCSA TPR as a certified training facility.
-
What are the requirements to be registered on the FMCSA TPR?Find the FMCSA TPR requirements here.
-
Do I need to adhere to state requirements with a FMCSA TPR?Yes. Each state has different requirements in terms of licensing, facilities, equipment, etc. Be sure to check with the office in your state that has jurisdiction over private commercial driving schools to verify that your school is in compliance. Failure to do so will allow any state to report your school to the FMCSA and have your TPR removed.
-
Will you help me set up the rest of my commercial driving school?Unfortunately, Launch TPR only registers your school for the FMCSA training provider registry. Our customers are still responsible for making sure they are in compliance with all federal and state regulations, and maintaining their FMCSA TPR once it's been registered.
-
Do I have to designate the type of TPR I would like to register for?Yes. During the checkout process you can select one, two, or all three types of TPRs. Those types are Online, In-Person, or Traveling.
-
Can I register a TPR if I'm an individual and don't have a CDL?Yes, but you'll still need personnel with the correct credentials to do the training.
-
Am I required to have a training site and equipment to get a TPR?No, but you'll need to register a traveling TPR and be contracted by a company to train their drivers.
-
Do I have to use the ELDT program to train new CMV Drivers?YES! It's the law. Learn all about the FMCSA ELDT here.
